Ooblek! Corn starch and water make for a lot of fun with this simple experiment. The name Oobleck comes from the Dr. Seuss book ‘Bartholomew and the Oobleck’ in which a blobby substance fell from the sky almost brought down an entire kingdom. In reality, Oobleck is a non-Newtonian fluid which is the classification given to substances that have both liquids and solid properties. For instance, if you slowly stick your hand into a mixture of ooblek it will feel like a liquid but if you punch it, squeeze it or even walk on it, yes, walk on it, it reacts like a solid object. The renderings of the updated Rivers of America at Disneyland look amazing. The waterfalls are a nice addition to the area and several things in there look like homages to Nature’s Wonderland. We’re not sure if this was intentional or if we’re just hopeful and nostalgic. We’d love to hear what you have to say about this rendering, so leave your thoughts below.
Elton John performed at Disneyland as segments are being filmed for the February’s ‘Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60‘ special celebrating Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary. The special event will feature performances and events from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, CA and some of the most popular and iconic locations of Disneyland (we’ve heard there’s even going to be a segment from CarsLand at DCA. The special will feature the “Paint The Night” parade and a special TV showing of “World of Color- Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney.
The celebration special will be airing on ABC on Sunday, February 21 at 5:00pm (PST).
