Selfie Sticks banned at Walt Disney World. Is Disneyland next?

Apr 7, 2015 | Blog post

In this episode:
The topic of selfie sticks at Disneyland was brought up in a recent episode and Mario made it very clear that he was against them. Yesterday, Walt Disney World made an official announcement to their cast members that selfie stick use on attractions will no longer be allowed.  This comes after many guests posed a safety threat due to sticking the selfie sticks off of attractions while ride vehicles were in motion. Guests seen on attractions using a selfie stick will be asked to store it over by the PA system (or put it away). If a guest does not comply, the ride will be immediately stopped (queue the hissing and booing of the crowd). Keep in mind that this not “full park” ban but it is a step in the direction of guests complying with the existing policy to “remain seated and keep your hands, arms, feet and legs (and selfie sticks) inside the vehicle at all times“.

No word on whether this will be implemented at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA but we’ll update this post with more info if it becomes available.

Until next time! °o°
