Ep190: The Next Chapter

Feb 7, 2018 | Podcast episode, Podketeers

In this episode: This week we talk about an animatronic losing their head, Splitsville at Downtown Disney doing a soft open, the Disney company holds a 'Day of listening' and the next chapter of the Podketeers story begins now!

Sometimes bad things happen to good animatronics. Last week the Ursula animatronic at Disney California Adventure on the Ariel’s Undersea Adventure attraction had a mishap where her head fell off and was hanging by the cables attached to her body. The video went viral and people rapidly fired off comments with one of the most popular being “off with her head”. One thing to keep in mind is that although this also recently happened at Disneyland Paris to the auctioneer on the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ attraction, this is a very rare occurrence. Disney has very high standards when it comes to the maintenance of their animatronics, vehicles and attractions. Now, we’re not saying that accidents don’t happen but we are saying that although unfortunate,  we’re surprised that it doesn’t happen more often.

The Splitsville Lanes at Downtown Disney are almost complete and this past week AJ & VJ (DisneyFor2) headed to Splitsville to check it out during it’s soft opening to the public you can check out their vlog below!
